Learning English

You are on this page because you are either a small group or family and want a great, no stress holiday in NZ, AND learn some conversational ENGLISH at the same time. We believe it would be best to do this part of your stay in New Zealand FIRST so you can gain some conversational skills early, making the rest of your stay more enjoyable. Remember you will be the only people here during your stay and all attention will be focused on you and your group.

	Learning English is so much easier and more fun as a small group.
	This is a very cost effective way of seeing New Zealand AND learning some essential basic conversational skills to help you build confidence and enjoy the rest of your stay.
	If you plan on traveling later by hire car, this is a good week to learn a little about our road rules as we tour around, for example, getting to know our roundabouts and what to do when you see a mob of sheep on the road!
	PROFESSIONALS and ACADEMICS: bring any written work or publication abstracts with you and we can proof read and correct them here as part of your instruction.

How Do You Learn?

We can offer formal instruction (if you would like this) and lots of conversation with native speakers in real situations.

An example might be best.

The morning after you arrive we practise ordering coffee at a cafe. We could then go for a beautiful back road bike ride to a cafe where you would do the actual ordering. After arriving back home we could prepare for a local wine tour which you could either do in the afternoon or the next morning. Remember, any transport you may need to almost anywhere you may want to go, is included. We have some amazing uncrowded golf courses here and it is a popular way to see this part of the country. We could have a lesson on 'English used while golfing' then I could take you out to a beautiful remote country 18 holes to practice.

While we do not offer any formal certificates, you can have two sessions of formal tuition each day and as much conversational English as you want. At Lothlorien, learning English IS your holiday!

Lothlorien is a fantastic place for a family to have a holiday as there is always something happening and you get conversational English instruction the entire time you are here. You can take advantage of any of the activities on the 'Things To Do' page or just enjoy the farm and play on the river.
